Employment

2023 UPDATE:

We aren't looking for any employees at this time, as we are putting our efforts into teaming up with another 501(c)3 non-profit agency to ensure our sustainability for future years to come. As a result, we are not operating our expeditions in 2023.

We plan to operate our 2024 expeditions between the months of May and August, and will require attendance of a week-long backcountry training in May.  In the first months of 2024, we will hire several Certified Field GuidesField Guide Interns and Clinical Field Interns as our front-line staff, responsible for ensuring a safe and therapeutic milieu on a day-to-day basis with our students. They hold current certifications in wilderness medicine, CPR, and de-escalation training. These impressive direct-care workers come to us with significant experience in outdoor leadership & youth mentorship or clinical settings, and are enthusiastic about living alongside our students as they navigate new perspectives and insight.

Volunteer Opportunities

Inner Roads thrives with the support of our generous volunteers! Please check back for dates that we could particularly use your help, typically from April thru August each year.

Need an excuse to get out in the wilderness yourself?

We are in need of 1-3 local volunteers to help pack in resupplies each week! We leave Tuesday mornings and camp overnight near the expedition, generally returning to Missoula by Wednesday evening. The hikes are not strenuous and are typically less than 5 miles from a trailhead. It's a fun way to help out & get some mid-week adventure in!

Only have a few hours but want to dig in?

We're also in need of volunteers to help us pack food for the expeditions before they go out! We will be buying trail provisions in bulk and prepping in the Gear Room at our office.
